Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties; however, it is not an exclusive or all- inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitors forecasts and develops capacity attainment plan based on capabilities and future projected customer demand
  • Executes material resource planning (MRP) to ensure materials and components are available to generate the master production schedule
  • Analyzes customer and production requirements to maximize space utilization
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure key performance indicators achieved
  • Collects, monitors and analyzes data to control capacity risks, maintain site efficiencies and assure on-time delivery
  • Prepares and reviews required business reports
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives for production planning process and information flow
  • Cross train with scheduling to gain an understanding of plant flow and critical scheduling metrics. Coverage for scheduling is required.
  • Assist with Continuous Improvement opportunities.
  • Collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Shipping, and Customer Service is critical.


Education & Experience
  • High school degree required, bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing the factors that lie between the purchase of raw materials and delivery of finished products
  • Ability to effectively manage the business relationship and transactions with the suppliers of raw materials or product components
  • Knowledge of issues and considerations for effectively managing local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work in progress and finished goods
  • Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials throughout the manufacturing cycle
  • Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility
