Job Overview: We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician that will be based at our Chesterton, IN location. The overall objective of the Maintenance Technician is to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the production facility. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the shared management, development, and implementation of preventive/predictive programs at the Chesterton, IN and Columbia City, IN locations. This role is also responsible for corrective maintenance solutions for mechanical systems and equipment across multiple processes at the two locations. This person is expected to work independently and make technical decisions and recommendations in the field. Primary Responsibilities: - Plan, Coordinate, and Execute Preventive and Corrective Maintenance. - Assist in Turnaround Planning and Cost Estimation of Mechanical Work. - Maintain and troubleshoot Mechanical Equipment such as: Centrifugal Pumps, Centrifugal Compressors, Reciprocating Compressors. - Support Pressure Relief Device Maintenance Program. - Vibration Data Collection Responsibility. - Grease Route Execution Responsibility. - Assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Activities for Major Failures. - Support Various Compliance Related Inspections. - Provide on-site or remote assistance and direction to plant and/or contract personnel to ensure safe and effective work. - Drive resolution of highest impact issues with a strong sense of urgency and integrity. - Rotating On-Call Responsibility for Burns Harbor, IN and Columbia City, IN sites. - Support satellite plant in Columbia City, Indiana - ~20% travel required. - Support Purchasing and Maintaining Plant Material, Equipment, and Consumables Inventory. This position requires a combination of office work and field work. Employee will be required to work in different weather conditions and must be able to access elevated electrical and mechanical equipment via ladders, scaffolding, man-lifts and crane baskets. The job occasionally requires overtime and callouts on weekend, nights, and holidays. This position also supports the associated satellite plant in Columbia City, IN. Travel is required ~20% of the time. This position requires rotating on-call responsibility. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: - Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. - Proven experience in installation, troubleshooting, and repairs of pumps, compressors, manual valves, etc. - Proven knowledge of Preventive and Predictive maintenance systems and equipment. - Excellent communication and team interaction skills. - Proven ability to work independently as well as lead/participate on teams. - Proven experience as a self-starter who effectively manages multiple tasks and achieves results with minimal supervision. - Proven experience in computers and standard software packages (MS Office, E-Mail etc.). - Ability to travel ~20% of the time. Preferred Qualifications: - Associates Degree in a mechanical related field or 10 years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. - Proven understanding of regulatory and industrial standards and codes. - Proven understanding of predictive maintenance systems, equipment, and methodologies. - Proven experience in Asset Management systems such as Infor EAM and Procal.
