Overall Responsibilities: A Warehouse Manager oversees daily warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient and safe receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. They lead a team, implement procedures, maintain inventory accuracy, and optimize warehouse processes to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities: Managing the receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping processes.
Hiring, training, and managing warehouse staff, fostering teamwork and accountability.
Maintaining accurate inventory levels, tracking stock, and implementing strategies for efficient storage and retrieval.
Enforcing safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Identifying areas for improvement in warehouse operations, implementing new technologies, and optimizing workflows.
Collaborating with logistics teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess warehouse performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Leadership and Management:
Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of warehouse employees.
Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain attention to detail.
Effective communication with staff, other departments, and external partners.
Ability to identify and resolve issues related to inventory, logistics, and staff performance.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning, and other relevant technologies.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to warehousing and materials handling.
Ability to work in a warehouse environment may involve physical activity and long hours.
Educational and other requirements: - 5+ years of related experience required.
- Ability to communicate effectively to direct and motivate others, maintaining a persuasive and credible presentation style at all levels of the organization.
- A true "team-oriented" leader that embraces the idea that person is a "go-to" person.
- Expertise with ERP systems (JDE is a plus)
- Experience working with multiple facilities as a warehouse manager.
- Proficient with computer systems and software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-Point, Outlook - Email.
- Must be able to lead complex projects with limited oversite.
