Key Responsibilities and Duties Direct Therapy: Implementing treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP for individuals or groups.Screenings: Conducting speech-language screenings without interpretation.Documentation: Documenting client progress toward goals and reporting to the supervisor. Support Functions: Preparing therapy materials, setting up equipment, and managing daily logistics (e.g., scheduling, cleaning). Family Interaction: Assisting with family education and, if competent, acting as an interpreter. Requirements and Qualifications Education: A bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders is required. Registration: Must be registered with the Indiana Speech-Language-Hearing Association Board. Work Environment and Physical Demands Physicality: Involves sitting, walking, standing, and occasional lifting, stooping, or kneeling.Supervision: Requires regular direct and indirect supervision by an ASHA-certified SLP. Required Skills Clinical: Understanding of speech/language disorders and therapy techniques.Technical: Ability to use specialized equipment and technology.Interpersonal: Strong communication for interacting with clients, families, and staff. EXPOSURE DETERMINATION: Has the potential for Hazardous Substance Exposure due to work dutiesHas the potential for Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure due to work duties HIPAA STATUS: Has been determined as eligible for access to/use of PHI & EPHI based on work duties and responsibilities in compliance with minimal necessary standards
