The Quality Engineer designs quality standards
defines monitors
and improves processes needed to meet customer and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for identification of problems and implementation of preventative and corrective actions for suppliers
customers
and internal processes. The Quality Engineer leads and mentors others in use of quality tools and data analysis. Responsibilities also include implementing the Quality Management System across the organization
managing support
and ensuring data integrity in addition to maintaining quality software applications and processes and implementing new processes to achieve evolving business objectives.
This role is required to be 100% onsite in Porter

Additional Responsibilities: - Defines
monitors
and improves processes needed to meet customer and regulatory requirements - Standardization of plant quality processes
- Responsible for identification of problems and implementation of preventative and corrective actions (supplier
customer and internal) - Works directly with suppliers and customers
- Improving trends for customer and internal PPM
- Manage plant-wide quality/standardization projects
- Leads and mentors others in use of quality tools and data analysis
- Fills in for Quality Manager when necessary
- Participate in continuous improvement and cost reduction activities
- Develop and maintain system documentation (SOPs
WIs
etc.) - Ability to lead projects and communicate effectively
- Ability to work with multiple levels of personnel and departments within the organization
- Ability to travel one or two times a month to other plants as needed
Desired Experience: - This role is required to be 100% onsite in Porter
Indiana - Bachelor's Degree in the Engineering field required
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience in manufacturing environments
- Lean/Six Sigma Certification preferred
- General understanding of quality systems
- Intermediate understanding of metallurgic concepts
- Problem solving/critical thinking skills
- Strong analytics and technology skills
