  • A minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalency is required.
  • 2 years of high-volume recruiting experience and strong working knowledge of disability programs and leave management practices including FMLA, short-term/long-term and ADA.
  • Must be willing to work across multiple shifts as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for a variety of human resources activities for the LaPorte, Indiana facility including HR administration, HR data maintenance and analysis, benefits coordination, manpower and headcount administration, training and audit documentation. Primary emphasis on full-cycle recruiting for hourly positions with back-up support on absence leave programs. The role partners closely with hiring managers to attract, screen, interview and onboard qualified candidates in a fast-paced environment while ensuring a positive candidate experience and compliance with company policies and employment laws.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Job responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for high-volume hourly positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, scheduling and onboarding candidates.
  • Manage full-cycle internal bid process including sourcing, screening, interview and selection.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, workforce planning, and hiring priorities.
  • Develop and maintain candidate pipelines through job boards, referrals, social media, career fairs, and community outreach.
  • Conduct phone screens and coordinate interviews with hiring teams.
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and recruitment records accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, applicant flow, and hiring trends.
  • Assist with employee relations, policy interpretation, and HR administrative functions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Participate in recruiting events, open interviews, and hiring initiatives to support staffing goals.
  • Build strong relationships with local workforce agencies, schools, and community organizations to support recruiting efforts.
  • Promote positive employer brand and candidate experience.
  • Maintain HR files, including I-9s, active and terminated personnel files.
  • Complete all applicable action items on boarding/hiring and separation checklists within the deadlines/timelines required.
  • Serve as the primary contact for HR data requests (including data manipulation).
  • Field employee questions on benefits, employee guidebook, policies and procedures.
  • Provide HR support for miscellaneous HR activities such as employee celebrations, employee recognition and community events.
  • Provide back-up assistance to other HR team members when needed.
  • Develops programs for building talent pipeline.
  • Support the HR Manager with day-to-day administrative duties.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and assist in preparing for and conducting HR audits.


Additional Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate administrative tasks for employee transitions, including employee transfers, employee data changes, shift moves, and other related data.
  • Provide support to administer employee leave of absence programs, including FMLA, short-term disability, long-term disability, personal leave, military leave, and other protected leaves.
  • Provide support to employees and managers regarding leave eligibility, processes, documentation and return-to-work procedures.
  • Coordinate with third-party administrators, healthcare providers, payroll, and management to ensure timely and accurate leave administration.
  • Track and maintain leave records, certifications, and required documentation in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Monitor leave timelines, intermittent leave usage, and benefit continuation during leave periods.
