Description:
Operate and monitor utility systems including boilers, chillers, compressors, water treatment, and wastewater systems
Perform routine inspections, readings, and system checks to ensure proper operation
Start up, shut down, and adjust equipment to maintain optimal performance
Respond to alarms, equipment malfunctions, and emergency situations
Perform basic preventive maintenance and assist maintenance teams with repairs
Record operating data, logs, and reports accurately and timely
Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, and environmental regulations
Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Communicate issues clearly to supervisors and cross-functional teams
Keep work areas clean, organized, and inspection-ready
High school diploma or GED
Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial systems
Ability to read gauges, meters, and control panels
Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and on-call schedules
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Ability to lift up to [X] lbs and work in industrial environments
Utility Operator, Boiler Operator, or related certification/license
Experience in manufacturing, utilities, power generation, or water/wastewater operations
Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental compliance requirements
Basic computer skills for logkeeping and reporting
Experience with preventive maintenance programs
Exposure to heat, noise, chemicals, and confined spaces
Standing, walking, climbing ladders, and working at heights
Use of required PPE at all times
