Job Description

The Technical Sourcing Manager leads the sourcing, qualification, and procurement of technical components, parts, and engineered materials that support Fleet Managers, Maintenance & Repair (M& R), and broader operational needs. This role focuses on technically complex categories requiring engineering drawings, vehicle specifications, technical specifications, detailed vendor assessments, and rigorous quoting processes. The role emphasizes technical product understanding, component-level cost analysis, supplier capability evaluation, and ensuring the right parts are available at the right cost, quality, and lead time. It partners closely with Engineering, M& R, Fleet, and OEM suppliers to ensure parts programs deliver operational reliability and cost efficiency.

The compensation for this role will be commensurate based on education and/or experience.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Leads sourcing of parts, components, and engineered materials for fleet and M& R operational needs.
  • Coordinates vendor onboarding, setup, and master data requirements for technical suppliers.
  • Ensures all necessary technical, safety, and compliance documentation is sourced and maintained.
  • Identifies cost reduction opportunities such as alternative materials, redesigned components, or simplified specifications.
  • Coordinates with Operations, Finance, Inventory Planning, and Repair Shops on part availability, lead times, and supply continuity.
  • Manages ongoing relationships with component and parts suppliers, including OEMs, fabricators, chassis manufacturers, and specialty manufacturers.
  • Supports implementation of new parts programs, technical standards, and category usage policies.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline technical sourcing processes, quoting workflows, and technical data management.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, operations, or similar technical discipline preferred; equivalent technical experience acceptable.
  • 4-6 years of experience in technical sourcing, component procurement, engineering support, or manufacturing supply chain.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, technical specifications, schematics, and BOMs.
