Description:

American Senior Communities is now hiring Regional Recreation and Activities Specialist

The Regional Recreation and Activities Specialist works with the Senior Living Community’s activity and memory care staff to elevate resident engagement and community life as well as provide strategic oversight to ensure recreational programming is therapeutic, individualized, and aligned to meet residents’ needs.

Skills Needed

  • Program Evaluation: Review existing programs to assess how well the programs are meeting the physical, emotional, social and cognitive needs of the residents. Utilizing participation metrics, resident feedback and quality indicators to identify trends and set improvement goals.
  • Guidance and Mentorship: Provide support, leadership and training to community staff recommending changes or enhancements to ensure consistency and innovation.
  • Person-centered Focus: Promotes person centered care throughout all interactions and encompasses ASC’s CARE values.
  • Collaboration: Works with and promotes collaboration among departments, professionals, consultants, and organizations including government regulatory agencies.

      Requirements

      • Must hold a degree in Recreational Therapy or Human Services related field.
      • Satisfactory completion of the Activities Director Certification.
      • Valid driver's license.
      • Be willing and able to travel to community locations throughout Indiana.
