Alcoa is currently looking for a motivational leader who can inspire change and make a difference at our Warrick Operations! As a Cast & Ship supervisor, you will play a large part in the success of work execution and people engagement. This front-line leadership role is responsible for coaching and mentoring others to reach their full potential, developing and upholding very high standards in safety and production practices while guiding diverse teams to achieve its goals.

About the role:

The Cast & Ship Supervisor is responsible for the safety and health of the employees under his/her direction by recognizing and reducing risk and managing processes that prevent incidents in his/her areas. You must ensure that safe work procedures and practices are followed and address at-risk behaviors in the workplace. You will set, communicate and implement priorities in alignment with the business objectives of Warrick Operations, the location, and the department of responsibility. This person will mentor and counsel employees and recommend improvement plans while leading and being accountable for the environmental, health, and safety performance and practices of the crew. This position will be a relief supervisor role for vacation and absence coverage.

• Provides technical experience and knowledge to production, maintenance, planning, quality, and engineering personnel.
• Responsible for coaching and counseling employees on standard operating practices and "best practices" for increased performance.
• Responsibilities range from leading troubleshooting efforts, developing practices, developing process improvements and to enhance productivity.
• Accountable for traditional administrative tasks of crew leaders.

• Must be able to work any shift. Main schedule will be day shift when no vacation or absence replacement is needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial environment.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills in order to communicate with all levels of the organization required.
• Good computer skills including use of Microsoft Office.
• Requires a progressive thinker who can initiate change
• Excellent computer skills (i.e.: Microsoft Office)
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent problem solving and creative thinking skills.
• Ability to work with cross functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates degree in a technical discipline
• Supervisory experience in a union environment
• Experience working in a smelter
• Metallurgy/Science experience/background
• Knowledge of ABS or Lean Manufacturing principles
• Experience with shipping & logistics
• Experience with Quality Assurance in a manufacturing setting
