Job Description Summary

Wintrust Financial Corporation is seeking a strategic and experienced executive to develop and lead enterprise-wide procurement, sourcing, and vendor management functions. This individual will be responsible for developing a scalable, cost-effective, and compliant procurement strategy across the Wintrust enterprise. This role is essential to driving operational efficiency, third-party risk mitigation, and value creation aligned with Wintrust’s community banking culture.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Procurement Leadership

  • Develop and implement a centralized procurement strategy that aligns with Wintrust’s decentralized operating model and long-term business goals.
  • Drive enterprise-wide sourcing initiatives to support innovation, optimize costs, consolidate vendors where appropriate, and improve service levels.

Vendor & Third-Party Risk Management

  • Oversee the evaluation, selection, and management of strategic suppliers and partners.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements related to third-party risk management.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Risk teams to manage contractual, reputational, and operational risks.

Contracting & Sourcing Excellence

  • Lead enterprise contract negotiation and management processes to secure favorable terms, mitigate risk, and support service-level expectations.
  • Partner with business units to ensure timely and compliant procurement that supports growth and innovation.

Procurement Operations & Technology

  • Implement modern procurement tools and systems (e.g., Coupa, Ariba, or other ERP platforms) to enhance procurement visibility, automation, and control.
  • Standardize and streamline procurement policies, procedures, and reporting across Wintrust’s subsidiaries.

Spend & Cost Management

  • Analyze spend data and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or service.
  • Track procurement performance through key metrics, dashboards, and reporting to senior leadership.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing procurement and vendor management team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and ethical sourcing across the organization.

Required Skills/Abilities/Background/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive procurement and vendor management experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing procurement in a multi-entity or decentralized operating model.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements governing third-party risk in the banking sector.
  • Experience implementing and managing procurement systems and tools.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence across all levels of the organization, from business unit leaders to C-level executives.

Work Environment

This role is based at Wintrust’s corporate headquarters in Rosemont, Illinois, and operates in a hybrid work environment. Some travel to remote offices and vendor locations may be required.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $203, 000 - $274, 000, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
