The Senior Portfolio Manager, Specialized Lending is responsible for overseeing the credit process and portfolio administration of a $500MM to $1B+ specialized commercial loan portfolio, focused on the Insurance Distribution segment.
What You’ll Do:
Responsible for the management and administration of a specialized commercial loan portfolio; including the credit processes from opportunity memo, structuring, credit presentation and approval, through loan funding; including monitoring of covenants and exceptions
Ensures the Portfolio Manager team is delivering exceptional client service and working with Bankers collaboratively to proactively address client needs and monitor credit risk, in adherence with Wintrust Credit policy
Reviews and supports credit approvals prior to submission to senior credit officers and relevant Credit Committees; maintains approval authority to effectively administer the portfolio
Performs direct supervisory duties of the portfolio management staff and coordinates the coverage in all related areas of the assigned specialty segment
Trains, mentors, and develops Portfolio Managers, Analysts and other junior members of the team. Helps drive and support innovation and continuous improvements in efficiency
Ensures processes are followed and teams are following Wintrust’s underwriting standards, templates, policies, and procedures
Monitors portfolio to ensure risk ratings to clients and facilities are accurate and supported.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related discipline
Minimum 7 years’ commercial credit experience including experience in one of the following sectors: corporate banking, middle market, leveraged lending; agency lending experience preferred
Prior leadership or management experience preferred
Thorough understanding of risk management and credit mitigants
Knowledge risk ratings analysis, corporate finance and/or research
Strong analytical and financial modeling abilities
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability establishing client relationships
Proficiency using Microsoft Office products including advanced Excel modeling skills
Familiarity with Moody's analytics

Compensation:
The estimated annual salary range for this role is $98, 000 - $132, 000, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
