Job Description:

Vitalant is hiring an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist III to bring skilled technical support to our specialty blood component manufacturing/high complexity testing reference laboratories.

What to Expect

Schedule: EVE 3: 00PM - 11: 30PM Monday - Friday (rotates on call)

Training: Days 7: 00AM-3: 30PM 6-8 weeks

Location: Rosemont IL

Base Wage: $49.14/hour - $51.48/hour

As a Med Lab Scientist, you'll get to:

• Perform high complexity testing in immunohematology, including antibody identification, antigen typing, absorptions, elution, and cross match.(Ref Lab)???
• Perform production, processing, and labeling of blood components and blood donations (Manu Lab)??
• Provide technical support to hospital transfusion services.
• Review and report test results, participate in investigative studies, participate in quality control, preventative maintenance, and validations.
• Conduct training, observations, competency assessments and documentation.
• Participate in technical investigative studies.
• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, medical technology or clinical laboratory science required.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist/MLS/BB from an accredited agency or CLIA equivalent for high complexity testing required.
• State licensure as required by regulations.
• Three years of laboratory testing experience required.
• One year of Reference Lab/IRL experience preferred.
• Two years of experience in a lead or charge capacity required.

Requirements:

• SBB certification preferred. MLS/BB certification required.
• 3 years lab experience with 1-year IRL required.
• 2 years lead/charge experience required.
