The Account Manager role at VMS is focused on growing business within key verticals by managing existing accounts and prospecting new opportunities, especially at the executive and data/analytics team levels. You'll be expected to understand client needs and position VMS's identity and behavioral data products as solutions across marketing, risk, fraud, and compliance use cases. Success in the role involves collaboration with internal sales support, ongoing professional development, and using tools like Gong, Salesforce, and Value-Selling to accelerate growth and deal flow.
About the Day-to-Day Responsibilities of the Role At VMS, our Account Managers are responsible for using their initiative to identify prospects, analyze sales options, recommend product solutions, and maintain relationships with customers. Our most successful Account Managers are skilled at uncovering problems our customers might have. Listening and the ability to probe with thoughtful questions will enable you to close deals faster.
- Research prospects, qualify that VMS can provide value to the customer.
- Manage multiple customers and opportunities (10+) in the sales pipeline, build rapport as the primary contact.
- Lead presentations and consultative discovery sessions that demonstrate how our products and solutions are essential and cost-effective.
- Plan strategically. You'll develop a strategic sales plan to effectively and efficiently deliver your quota, manage key pipeline metrics, and provide reliable forecasting.
- Communicate with transparency. You'll regularly update the sales team on your overall sales process, key learnings, as well as the status of discrete opportunities.
- Partner with internal resources. You will work closely with marketing, Customer Success Managers, Sales Development reps, product team, solutions engineers, and other team members.

About You and How You Can Excel in this Role- 5+ years' experience managing accounts and selling data, such as information services, marketing analytics, scoring and verification services across various verticals
- Proven track record in sales, especially with SaaS, Enterprise, or other complex, analytic, information-based solutions
- Self-motivated to establish new relationships, prospect for new opportunities, and close deals
- Ability to drive personal results in a collaborative, team selling environment
- Experience in managing strategic business relationships with customers at all levels of management extending to the VP and C-levels
- Strong consultative sales and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; articulate and persuasive presence and speaking experience required
- Sales verticals include Insurance, Financial Services, Retail, Digital Marketing, CPG, Ad tech, and various data service providers/companies
