We are seeking a highly talented
Design Engineering Intern to join our Grain & Protein Storage Engineering team at our
Assumption, Illinois headquarters for the Summer of 2026.
This is a paid, full-time internship during the summer of 2026. Students are required to work 40 hours per week onsite at our office in Assumption from tentatively Wednesday, May 27 th through Friday, July 31 st (dependent upon summer housing dates, could start earlier and/or end later).
Your Impact Product Design
- Communicate with Team Leader, Engineering Manager and Product Manager to understand and verify product requirements and cost targets
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineer/Quality Associate for manufacturing documentation
- Customer interface and feedback of key features
- Analyze and identify risks with engineering and product managers to mitigate production issues through
- Computer based design and simulation
- Collaborate with R& T to build prototype designs
- Production readiness
- Gain manufacturing inputs during Lean design activities
- Collaborate with ME/QA to ensure successful manufacturing launch
- Support tech services
Your Experience and Qualifications - Enrollment in a degree program in design engineering, agricultural engineering or related field
- Must be registered as a full-time student
- Must be able to commute to work location on a daily basis
- Proficiency in 3d modeling software
A Plus If You Have - Strong computer literacy: MS Office Suite; web-based applications
- Agricultural background or experience
- Proficiency in Creo 3d modeling software
- Building code knowledge and structural design experience
Your Compensation and Benefits Expected hourly wage for this role will be $20 - 22 / hour. This is dependent upon year in school.
Benefits will include complimentary housing located at The Woods housing complex at Millikin University in Decatur, IL, for students that do not live locally.
