The North America team is currently looking for an Assembler on 1 st shift to join our Taylorville, IL facility.
The Assembler will be essential in the production of high-quality wooden pallets and crates that are a crucial part of our daily operations. Your role will involve using power tools to design, construct, and repair sturdy and reliable pallets. A keen eye for detail, muscular strength, and an unwavering commitment to safety are crucial for success in this role.
Your Impact - Build wooden pallets and crates using hand and power tools, and pneumatic nail guns.
- Conduct regular inspections of finished pallets and crates to ensure conformity to specification.
- Pack boxes with various component parts.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools.
- Release/request material from internal sources and perform any material replenishment to retrieve, pick and move stock requirements.
- Utilize quality checks to ensure all systems are set for correct operational sequencing and to meet product standards.
- Implement all aspects of Grain & Protein Technologies Lean and Quality Management systems.
- Use a forklift to move pallets to designated areas.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area to 5S Standards.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Your Experience and Qualifications - High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in a similar role or working within a production environment.
- Exceptional manual dexterity and physical strength.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Basic computer skills.
- Understanding of how to use hand tools (screw drivers, wrenches, etc.), power tools (i.e. cordless drill, cordless screwdrivers, etc.), and pneumatic tools (i.e. stapler, nail gun, impact gun, rivet gun, etc.) as well as the ability to read blueprints and a tape measure.
- Ability to read, write and use basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow precise instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, managers and across departments.
Your Compensation and Benefits - Expected total compensation for this role will be $17.79 to $22.95 per hour depending upon job related knowledge, experience, and skills.
- Up to 5% gainshare potential.

Your Workplace You will be working onsite role based in Taylorville, IL.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works with or near to moving trucks, trailers and fork trucks and near large machinery and equipment daily. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions including temperatures ranging from 40°F to 105°F.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands or arms. The employee must be able to stand for up to twelve hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The employee must wear personal protective equipment (i.e. eye protection, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, sleeves, etc.)
