Your Next Career Opportunity – Senior Network Operations Control Center Technician

The primary function of this position is to monitor and support a 24x7 Data Center environment through our Network Operations Center. This position is responsible for supporting a wide range of network types and in-building facilities sub-systems (Environmental Controls, Access Systems, UPS and Generators, etc.). The Senior NOCC Technician is also responsible for analyzing problems and escalating to the appropriate teams for resolution.


What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monitoring of Data Center network and facilities sub systems.
  • Monitor physical security systems and site access controls.
  • Utilize ticketing software to communicate with clients + document and resolve incidents.
  • Complete and update trouble-ticketing entries clearly and concisely exhibiting excellent written communication skills.
  • Facilitate physical access for visitors, enforcing DC rules and codes of conduct.
  • Perform remote-hands tasks including rack/stack/cabling of networking equipment and servers, troubleshooting of network and hardware issues, replacement of components, etc.
  • Collaborate effectively with Facilities, Network Engineering, and Sales teams to ensure smooth operation of the DC.
  • Mentor and assist in training of other technicians.
  • Assist with creating/maintaining documentation including SOPs, inventory and asset management, visitor logs, key logs, etc.
  • Manage communication during network and facility outage incidents, providing status updates to stakeholders.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma/GED Associates Degree preferred; and 3-5 years in a Network Operations Center or Data Center Technician role.
  • Proven knowledge of WAN/LAN networks, OSI Model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, network diagnostic tools (Ping, Trace Route, MTR)
  • Understanding of network cable types (CAT6, Single Mode Fiber, Multimode Fiber, etc.) and connections (RJ45, LC, SC, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, troubleshooting, break/fix
  • Working knowledge of SolarWinds or comparable network management tool, ticketing systems, and Windows and Linux skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook
  • (Preferred) Technical Certifications (A+, Network+, CCNA, Basic Structure Cabling (BSC), Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP)
