Customer Quality Engineer

Your Job

The Customer Quality Engineer will coordinate all internal Molex quality activities and communications for assigned customer products and for additional Strategic customers. They will also coordinate quality for all Molex entities producing components and assemblies for said customers. External communication and coordination with customer suppliers, sub-contractors, DSS, ODM and CMs is required to ensure consistent quality performance and execution globally.

Location: This is a remote role with a preference for Applicants based in Texas.

What You Will Do

• Coordinate with Datacom key account, Molex, & CM's on QN's, SQA, & Quality improvement. This includes reviewing all quality data before submitting to customers and coordinating action if required.
• Evaluating all 8D's provided to assigned customer in response to a QN. Securing customer approval on QN's Molex wishes to close and for any change notices
• Serve as initial contact on quality issues from customer, or CM's. Ensure availability for high-priority issues.
• Assign specific customer concerns to the most appropriate Molex personnel. Provide global expediting for all assigned customer QN's, and liaison with Molex operating entities and assigned customer locations on all quality issues and requirements.
• Provide coordination for completion & communication of action items to meet quality targets.
• Schedule and conduct quality communications meetings and calls with customers, CM's, and within Molex. Ensure global coordination of quality related communications regarding customers.
• Visit customer and Molex locations quarterly for proactive reviews and attend regional and/or glob al meetings with customers. This may include participation in relationship building activities with assigned customer locations.
• Coordinate with plants globally for uniform action on all new products and change management for assigned customers.
• Provide oversight and coordination within Molex in the following ways: ensure that quality lab certifications to meet assigned customer requirements, supplier quality engineer responsibilities with Molex suppliers, and quality engineering coordination with Molex entities. Also, coordinate lessons learned between entities.
• Participate in an internal audit team for entities supplying assigned customers. Participate in all products and system audits for assigned customers in any Molex site.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a Quality role.
• Demonstrated experience in a quality role in a multisite manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience managing a successful quality improvement process with multidiscipline involvement (engineering, manufacturing, sales, etc.).
• Ability to Travel to various customer or CM sites within the Mexico region

What Will Put You Ahead

• Knowledge of SAP
• Knowledge of advanced quality tools associated with Lean Six Sigma including DOE

For this role, we anticipate paying $80, 000 - $90, 000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
