MAGNA-TILES is hiring a Shipping Coordinator in Bolingbrook, IL. This is a full-time position.
Role Overview: MAGNA-TILES is looking for an experienced Shipping Coordinator to join our growing Operations team. As the Shipping Coordinator, you will serve as the primary liaison between Warehouse Operations, Customer Operations, Transportation providers, and customers to coordinate the daily execution of outbound shipments. You'll play a critical role in supporting wholesale, retail, and direct to consumer fulfillment while helping drive continuous improvement in our shipping operations. This position reports to the Customer Operations Manager and partners closely with teams across Operations, Warehouse, Sales, Inventory Control, and Planning. Key Responsibilities: Shipping & Transportation Coordination Coordinate daily outbound shipments across wholesale, retail, and direct to consumer channels. Schedule parcel, LTL, and full truckload carrier pickups while ensuring on time departures. Coordinate inbound and outbound freight activities, including scheduling deliveries, managing dock appointments, and communicating with carriers to ensure efficient warehouse flow. Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delays, exceptions, and service issues. Serve as the primary point of contact for transportation carriers and logistics partners. Shipping Documentation & Compliance Prepare and verify Bills of Lading (BOLs), shipping labels, packing slips, and all required shipping documentation. Manage shipment execution and documentation through customer vendor portals (e.g., Target Partners Online, Wal-Mart Retail Link, Amazon Vendor Central, and other retail platforms), ensuring compliance with routing, appointment scheduling, and shipping requirements. Ensure all shipments comply with customer routing guides, retailer compliance requirements, and carrier specifications. Maintain accurate shipment records and shipping documentation. Support freight claims, shortages, damages, and shipment investigations. Operational Coordination Partner with Warehouse Operations to prioritize outbound shipments and ensure orders are staged, complete, and ready for pickup. Coordinate expedited shipments and customer specific shipping requests. Communicate shipment status, transportation issues, and delivery updates to Customer Operations, Sales, and other internal stakeholders. Collaborate with Planning, Inventory Control, and Operations to quickly resolve shipping challenges and minimize customer impact. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve shipping efficiency, accuracy, and transportation costs. Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance productivity and customer service. Support the implementation of new transportation systems, shipping software, and automation initiatives. Participate in Lean and Continuous Improvement projects that improve operational performance. What You'll Bring To The Table: 2-5+ years of experience in shipping, transportation, logistics, warehouse operations, or supply chain. Experience coordinating parcel, LTL, and full truckload shipments. Working knowledge of ERP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments. Highly detail oriented with a commitment to accuracy and execution. Self-motivated, goal oriented, and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. A desire to learn, innovate, and continuously improve processes. Experience using shipping and transportation platforms such as Shipium, UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or similar systems. Knowledge of retailer routing guides and compliance requirements. Experience working in a high-volume distribution or consumer products environment. Current forklift and reach truck certification, or the ability to be certified upon hire, with a demonstrated commitment to safe equipment operation.
