About the Role:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our clients—a leading global software-industrial company—for an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer. In this full-time role, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of innovative, complex mechanical solutions. Your expertise will ensure that cutting-edge mechanical systems meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability.

Reporting directly to the Senior Engineering Manager, you will work out of either the Freeport, IL, or Boyne City, MI locations on a hybrid schedule. Your work will directly enhance product functionality and customer satisfaction in a highly competitive global market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute advanced mechanical design projects from concept through production.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define mechanical requirements and ensure design feasibility.

  • Perform detailed mechanical analysis and simulations to validate product performance and reliability.

  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.

  • Stay current with emerging industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve design processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in mechanical design and development, with a strong focus on advanced mechanical systems.

  • Deep knowledge of mechanical design principles, CAD software proficiency, and simulation tools.

  • Experience with mechanical analysis techniques, including stress, thermal, and dynamic simulations.

  • Expertise in materials selection, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability.

  • Proficiency in industry-standard CAD tools and mechanical simulation software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Proven track record of delivering successful mechanical design projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate in mechanical design solutions.

  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading design teams.

  • Knowledge of industry standards, product testing, and validation processes.
