Description:

Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the development and achievement of sales strategies, budgets, and marketing plans to grow the business, as well as leading the functional teams. The role involves strategic planning, managing people, selling, improving processes, business development, and growth of Tek-Matic's Lab Automation and electrical distribution portfolio.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Partner with leadership to set clear sales targets, financial goals, and budgets, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), that drive pipeline growth, win rates, and closed revenue.
  • Oversee sales opportunities from the moment of lead generation to successful implementation with the customer.
  • Manage all aspects of business processes and team members to deliver revenue and profit commitments at all site locations in line with the business strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure that the highest level of customer service, support, and technical expertise for our customers is available consistently with all aspects of our position as the market leader.
  • Develop and execute business plans, marketing initiatives, and operating strategies to drive growth for products and services.
  • Develop an annual sales budget in alignment with organizational strategic direction and the annual goals and objectives. Provide regular forecasts of sales revenue and anticipated expenses. Ensure that expenses are aligned with revenues.
  • Study, understand, and become proficient in explaining each solution in a clear, accurate, and relatable manner suitable for sophisticated automation professionals.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal communication, presentation ability, and confidence speaking to engineers, automation teams, and scientists.
  • Own key vendor relationships while expanding the vendor and partner network. Coordinate Key Supplier planning sessions as needed.
  • Develop and/or optimize business practices to improve performance, increase quality, and ensure safe performance of our operations at the facility or in the field.
  • Set goals for team members, clearly communicate expectations, and monitor performance using company-wide systems such as performance management, talent management, etc.
  • Drive an environment of collaboration amongst the sales team, customer service, finance, and service.
  • Manage and align service resources to match client needs while exceeding company objectives and goals.
  • Promote the proper use of and oversee the deployment of tools such as P21, Pricing I2P, Salesforce, and Flow 360 that will be used across all TAG brands.
  • Direct, develop, and oversee the general health and safety policies and procedures of the organization. Ensure the workplace is in full compliance with OSHA and other state, local, and/or customer-specific regulations.
  • Ensure the sales teams cross-promote all products and services of all FCG products where applicable.
  • Maintain and improve the company's culture; motivate and inspire employees through clear and transparent communication. Encourage and build trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Conduct Sales deep dives using CRM to ensure sales and margin budgets are met by individual sellers and maintain pipeline reports. Identify support needs and communicate/coordinate internally or externally.
  • Support and coordinate company-wide training and Customer training programs, road shows, and symposiums in line with key growth initiatives.
  • Other responsibilities as warranted by the business's needs and leadership's direction

Qualifications:
  • Extensive sales and business development in a high-tech industry
  • Strong understanding of professional communication and relationship-building within life science environments.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in outside sales leadership.
  • Ability to learn and accurately articulate complex life science information.
  • Strong Business Development acumen
  • Experience in both high-volume transaction selling as well as project-based cap-ex projects.
  • Proficient computer and technical skills, including working knowledge of CRM's and MS Office 365

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience selling project-based solutions (cap-ex) plus recurring/service add-ons; comfortable managing longer sales cycles.
  • Familiarity with lab workflows (sample prep, PCR, NGS, liquid handling, assay automation, plate handling, data flow/LIMS touchpoints, scheduling software, etc.).
  • Background in automation distribution/integration and the value proposition of solutions selling.
  • Broad industry knowledge with automation/robotics instrumentation experiences a plus

Travel:

Travel will be required to support the business, outside sales team, and market expansion/growth initiatives.#tekmatic
