Description:

Federal Signal has an immediate opening for a Vice President/General Manager for our Public Safety Systems Business. This position will be based at our University Park, Illinois facility.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Own full P& L responsibility for the Public Safety Market, overseeing all aspects of strategy, operations, and performance for municipal vehicular warning for police and fire markets, and warning for work truck markets.
  • Develop and execute business strategies aligned with Federal Signal and Safety & Security Group (SSG) objectives, in collaboration with other business unit leaders.
  • Drive aggressive growth in domestic and international markets through innovative product development, strategic channel expansion, and entry into adjacent markets that leverage Public Safety System’s core capabilities.
  • Lead operational excellence initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, supply chain efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall profitability.
  • Foster deep customer relationships to identify unmet needs and guide the development of differentiated high-value products and services.
  • Build and lead a high-performance organization by assessing talent, optimizing organizational structure, and ensuring the team is aligned with strategic goals.
  • Develop leadership bench strength by mentoring direct reports, implementing robust performance management, and supporting talent development and succession planning.
  • Instill a culture of accountability and urgency, ensuring focus, discipline, and speed in execution across all areas of the business.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing or engineered product businesses, in a senior role with P& L accountability or 10+ years of experience with an MBA.
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue and profitability growth, including experience expanding into new markets, launching new products, and building global or multi-regional sales channels.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, product management, sales, and supply chain.
  • Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.

Anticipated Annual Salary: $182, 918 - $261, 311 + annual bonus
