Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement global network architectures to meet the business and IT needs to include; data communication, WAN/LAN technology, Cloud connectivity, network monitoring, remote access, IP communications, VOIP and other technologies as defined.
- Provide comprehensive technical leadership to staff responsible for all network functionality or services that would include the design, architecture or selection of network equipment, software, and services to meet organizational goals.
- Administers a complex global multi-facility, multi-location network utilizing TCP/IP and other networking protocols supporting multiple UNIX, LINUX, and Windows based operating systems.
- Daily administration of WAN’s, LAN’s, VLAN’s, SD-WAN, backup circuits and sub-nets.
- Monitors and analyzes network utilization. Performs configuration changes as required. Maintains network-monitoring software.
- Assist with the design, implementation, administration, and configuration of the enterprise Cisco phone system.
- Identify, and act upon, network projects with significant cost savings or organizational benefits, as solutions to business and technical issues.
- Develops and maintains plans for networking and telecom systems.
- Manages multiple priorities inherent in highly complex enterprise networks.
- Troubleshoots networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
- Manages the operations of network resources for security compliance (e.g. security patches, virus protection) and performance optimization.
- Manages network and firewall traffic to detect unauthorized access attempts, identify improperly configured resources, and evaluate the overall health and security of the network and company computer systems daily.
- Monitors and analyzes network utilization. Performs configuration changes as required. Maintains network-monitoring software. Manages alerting systems for significant network events.
- Evaluates, recommends, and implements network hardware, peripheral equipment, and software.
- Provides technical consulting services to departments regarding the use of computers and networks to satisfy business needs.
- Assist in developing and maintaining a company-wide Disaster Recovery Plan.
- Assist in handling Help Desk calls for all network systems related issues.
- Develop and maintain written documentation for all network systems including standard operating procedures.
- Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or sufficient previous experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years related experience in designing, implementing, and managing a multi-location, multi-platform corporate networking environment and team.
- Demonstrated, hands on management and operations of Cisco network equipment and phone systems.
- Cisco certification preferred, specifically CCIE. Other advanced certifications desirable.
- Advanced knowledge of multiple routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP and OMP.
- Customer service oriented with ability to effectively interact with non-technical users.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to proactively address intricate performance enhancement issues that have potential impact for the corporation.
