Job Summary Mix and prepare paint & primer in additionPrepare surfaces and apply paint to enclosures, bases, engines, containers, and other miscellaneous items as required. Clean and monitor all paint equipment, paint booth filters and painting area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Locate and/or move all items to be painted into the proper area.Prepare surfaces, including cleaning, masking, sanding, or blasting prior to applying paint.Prepare paint, including selection, mixing, and measuring. Apply paint to sheet metal, enclosures, bases, engines, containers, and other miscellaneous pieces as specified or directed, using the proper spray paint equipment as required and meeting all applicable standards.Clean and maintain all paint equipment and tools providing general upkeep and repair as needed.Clean and maintain paint booth and /or area including changing filters and keeping the area organized.Repair and/or repaint jobs that have been damaged during production.Maintain a high degree of attention and awareness, taking care to avoid an accident, injury, or any other hazard or damage to material, equipment, or person. Identify and use all appropriate safety equipment and follow all safety requirements. Operating Fork Truck / Man lifts / JLG, etc. NOTE: This job description is not all-inclusive and other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary. Qualifications Education and Experience High School diploma or G.E.D Experience in industrial coatings Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge in mixing and applying paint & primer products. Know how to determine the proper surface preparation and paint process for each substrate. Know how to set and operate paint equipment. Know how to use and read a Zhan cup to check for proper viscosity. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with his or her hands. Ability to operate a fork truck. Ability to work independently or as a team with a high degree of commitment. Experience with the preparation and application of paint to metal and other surfaces, including the use of spray applicators, such as conventional, H.V.L.P, cup and gravity fed guns. Experience with common hand tools and handheld pneumatic tools such as spray paint guns, air sanders and scrapers. Position Demands Physical Demands (essential functions) Above average attendance record in previous jobs. Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs. Ability to crouch, stoop, push, pull, grasp, bend, reach, lift, carry, crawl, climb up onto and down from equipment and climb up and down a ladder when necessary.
