I'm Doug Cooper, and I lead Human Resources globally for Emerson’s Appleton Group business unit. As an Human Resources Business Partner, you'll serve as a key member of our global HR team, supporting our efforts to attract, develop, and retain our company's greatest asset: Our People! This opportunity is based in Appleton Group’s Global HQ in Rosemont, IL working onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Build strong partnership with management and employees to coordinate personnel actions, create a work environment equipped to meet business needs and maintain an efficient and active two-way communication between them.
  • Proactively identify HR challenges together with the HR Director and offer solutions to create a sustainable and effective work environment.
  • Lead local HR projects and support global projects.
  • Administer and develop effective policies, procedures, and programs to uphold fair and equitable practices and guarantee adherence to law and labor agreements. Interpret, advise, and counsel employees and management on policies and HR procedures.
  • Analyze trends and metrics, seeking opportunities and strategies to improve trends in turnover, retention, and key indicators of employee and customer engagement.
  • Research and respond to employee concerns and investigate claims and allegations, document findings, recommend, and implement resolution.
  • Lead and support the implementation of HR programs and processes, including talent acquisition, onboarding, training and development, compensation, and benefits.
  • Collaborate and drive company communication strategies.
  • Drive employee engagement strategies to support a positive work environment.
  • Ensure personnel files and other employment records are kept in accordance with the company’s record retention policy and applicable state/federal laws.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or Psychology, Business, or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years of proven HR experience in a combination of operations, employee relations, business partnering, and talent acquisition commensurate with the level of the position.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and Emerson policies.
  • Experience and skill with HR information systems and digital collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, WebEx, etc.), Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with utmost integrity.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

  • 5+ years of HR experience with a combination of operations, employee relations, business partnering, and talent acquisition.
  • HR business partner experience within in an international, matrix organization and manufacturing environment.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
