Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the following monthly activities:
    1. Prepare monthly journal entries by pulling information from standard reports, process standard journal entries and allocate appropriate charges from corporate reports that apply to Elgin Sweeper and FS Depot.
    2. Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts and subledgers by gathering data and supporting information, and document discrepancies.
  2. Track fixed assets, calculate depreciations and reconcile fixed assets to balance sheets.
  3. Adhere to company policies and internal controls.
  4. Assist in the annual review of the SOX controls and audits.
  5. Assist in internal and external financial audits by providing necessary documents and responding to questions.
  6. Process the daily invoicing for units shipped and prepare the MSO’s
  7. Prepare required tax filings for sales/use tax, business tax, and submit them to Assistant Controller for review and filing.
  8. Support and assist with cost accounting tasks as needed.
  9. Assist other divisions or departments as needed for special projects.
  10. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
  11. Perform other duties, assignments or special projects as requested.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
  • Candidates with CMA or CPA accreditation/licensing are also encouraged to apply.
  • One to three years of accounting experience is required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing organization a plus.
  • Highly proficient in Excel with advanced skill level required.
  • Daily usage expertise in MS Office Products Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
  • JD Edwards experience is preferred
  • Cognos experience is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Anticipated Salary Range: $65, 000 - $85, 000
