Elgin Sweeper is hiring!

Description:

Activities/Responsibilities

• Perform demonstrations of equipment to potential or existing customers. Primarily Pelican sweeper but also perform demos with other core Elgin Products with dealer personnel.
• Assist salesmen with walk-around description of equipment, emphasizing features, benefits, and all relevant application information.
• Develop extensive knowledge of Elgin products, including but not limited to how to operate, basic maintenance, troubleshoot sweep performance, clean out, and train operators.
• Maintain correct mechanical function of all equipment and accessories.
• Prepare forms indicating daily activity for the purpose of billing shared costs to the respective sales channel.
• Prepare all expense reports to capture all expenses related to training and demonstrations in an effort to manage and contain costs.
• Transport demonstration equipment to and from end customer locations.
• Comply with U.S. Department of Transportation regulations regarding the transportation of equipment.
• Provide end customers direction as required to solve application or product problems.
• As available, assist engineering and ESG lab with testing, design validation, and other associated new product updates.
• Work with Product Management and Engineering to define special request, applications, or options observed from on-site training or startup of equipment.
• Assist with set-up and other trade show activity as required.
• Performs other duties, assignments, and special projects that may be required from time to time.

Skills Required

• Customer facing skills with ability to deescalate concerns and sell the company value proposition
• Technical expertise related to specialty vehicles
• Analytical, written and oral communication and organization skills are required
• Strong Mechanical knowledge
• Strong technical aptitude: the ability to rapidly gain mastery of a subject and effectively and efficiently coach and teach others about that subject
• Must possess a high degree of initiative (hands-on) and ability to prepare summary reports
• Working knowledgeable of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) software applications

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent, Associates Degree (business or technical emphasis) preferred.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain is required.
• Experience operating equipment preferred

Anticipated Salary Range: $82, 000 - $93, 000
