Job Summary

Accountable for all aspects of maintenance with direct responsibility for contractor management and boilers including stationary engineers. Directs, manages and coordinates, construction, and maintenance at the Cicero Lubricants Plant. Manages the activities of maintenance supervisor, stationary engineers, and contract personnel. Plans and directs work, facilitates interaction with other departments, establishes goals, objectives and priorities, and sets performance criteria. Identifies, recommends, justifies, and implements safety, environmental, maintenance, reliability and efficiency projects. Establishes and manages maintenance budget. Develops and implements programs to meet the safety and environmental goals of the Plant and Corporation. Responsible for fostering a proactive, positive safety culture at the facility. Serves as member of the plant leadership team responsible for shaping the overall culture of the facility and creating a collaborative, productive working relationship with fellow leadership team members and their departments. Serves as the primary back-up for the HSSE Manager. On-call 24/7 for emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
  • Eight years or more of maintenance leadership experience.
  • Independent decision-making skills.
  • Established leadership skills related to coordinating and directing a team.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts encountered in the course of performing assigned duties.
  • Ability to supervise others; ability to conduct performance reviews and determine appropriate salary/performance incentive recommendations.
  • Ability to work toward assigned objective without supervision.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker's Identification Credential (TWIC)

Job Duties

  • Maintain safety and environmental integrity and compliance of the Maintenance Department and contract workers in accordance with all local, state, federal laws and corporate goals and procedures.
  • Manage and direct the work of all maintenance and contract workers.
  • Accountable for managing and directing all expense project work (801).
  • Develop and maintain effective maintenance systems and processes.
  • Drive a proactive, collaborative maintenance culture.
  • Accountable for the management of inventory and parts.
  • Lead with a reliability-based mindset.
  • Develops capability of the maintenance team.
  • Facilitate cross-department coordination including alignment regarding priorities, raising potential risks, resolving conflicts, and coordinating work.
  • Track and report on key maintenance and plant metrics and utilizing that data to drive continuous improvement. Supports plant continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee administrative and budgetary aspects of the Maintenance Team.
  • Serves as a member of the plant leadership team ensuring HSSE standards are maintained and driving a proactive safety culture.
