Reporting to the Senior Managing Counsel, the Associate Senior Counsel will serve as a key business advisor to a number of Evernorth's healthcare delivery companies. The Associate Senior Counsel will provide strategic legal advice and guidance to promote growth and innovation while minimizing risk. The Associate Senior Counsel will advise on a broad spectrum of legal and regulatory matters at multiple levels of the organization relating to the company's healthcare businesses. In addition to collaborating with business partners, this role will collaborate with different in house and outside counsel legal subject matter experts to provide expert legal counsel to Evernorth and its care delivery businesses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Advise on Broad Spectrum of Laws and Regulations- Analyze and provide strategic advice regarding a broad range of complex legal issues including but not limited to telemedicine/virtual health, government program, corporate law/legal entity structure/management, corporate practice of medicine, licensure, fraud, waste and abuse, artificial intelligence, and other applicable laws and regulations
- Identify, assess, and resolve legal risks relating to the company's business
- Serve as a subject matter expert on telemedicine laws, regulations, and policies by state, and work closely with the businesses to drive growth while maintaining compliance with applicable law
Executing for Results- Respond promptly to requests from internal clients, and summarize and communicate legal risks clearly and concisely
- Support Evernorth's efforts to launch new services

QUALIFICATIONS: - Juris Doctor (JD) degree from nationally recognized law school and qualified bar admission
- 8-10 plus years of progressively responsible legal experience with law firms and/or companies operating in the health care industry
- Experience with Telehealth is needed.
- Significant experience with health care laws and regulations
- Experience with legal issues relating to health care technology
- Commercial contracting experience, including with health plans and health systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- An ownership mentality, exceptional follow-through skills, flexibility in embracing frequent
- change in all forms
- Demonstrated initiative, independent thinker and worker
- Ability to work with highly confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
*Hybrid work arrangement -- must be in the office three days a week in one of the following enterprise offices: Chicago, St Louis, Nashville or Bloomfield

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 148, 400 - 247, 300 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
