Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Orchard View Post Acute

At Orchard View Post Acute, we are committed to helping our residents achieve independence and improve their quality of life. We are currently seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our therapy team.

General Purpose

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This role includes following treatment plans, documenting progress, supporting discharge planning, and assisting with training for staff and families to ensure continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist and physician treatment plans
  • Record daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and documentation in compliance with state and payer requirements
  • Communicate with supervisors, care team members, and families regarding patient progress
  • Assist in training Restorative Aides and instruct families/caregivers in home programs prior to discharge
  • Participate in staff in-service training sessions and interdisciplinary care conferences
  • Support discharge planning and durable medical equipment recommendations
  • Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies in good working order


Qualifications
  • Licensed as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Proficient with electronic documentation systems (Casamba, PointClickCare preferred)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs frequently; occasional lifting over 100 lbs with assistance
  • Must remain in good standing with the State Board and meet all continuing education requirements
