Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our therapy team.
General PurposeThe Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This role includes following treatment plans, documenting progress, supporting discharge planning, and assisting with training for staff and families to ensure continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities- Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist and physician treatment plans
- Record daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and documentation in compliance with state and payer requirements
- Communicate with supervisors, care team members, and families regarding patient progress
- Assist in training Restorative Aides and instruct families/caregivers in home programs prior to discharge
- Participate in staff in-service training sessions and interdisciplinary care conferences
- Support discharge planning and durable medical equipment recommendations
- Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies in good working order
Qualifications- Licensed as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Proficient with electronic documentation systems (Casamba, PointClickCare preferred)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs frequently; occasional lifting over 100 lbs with assistance
- Must remain in good standing with the State Board and meet all continuing education requirements
