Culinary Aide Full-time Pay Rate: $14-15 hourly Non-exempt Schedule: Sunday through Wednesday 7am-6pm with a one hour lunch breakMake a difference by providing great care and love for our treasured residents! JOB SUMMARY Provide service of high-quality meals and facilitation of a gracious environment. This entails; accurate communication and order taking, properly relaying meal orders to back of the house staff. Offer exceptional customer service, as part of all interactions with our cherished residents.

POSITION OVERVIEW - Responsible for helping to prepare meals for transport and preparing snacks throughout the day.
- Supervise food service and assist as necessary. Be present in dining rooms for full meal services.
- Assist/Coordinate special functions and corporate meeting food service
- Maintain high sanitation standards
- Assemble and prepare dishes for service.
- Oversight of bistro areas - food presentation, cleanliness, Keeping snacks stocked and hydration area is available throughout the day.
- Ensure that supplies that are needed are ordered, such as tablecloths, napkins, silverware, and other necessary items for the dining rooms
- Ensure maintenance of beverage equipment in Reflections. Report any maintenance issues to be recorded in TELS.
- Clean the service area completely after each meal period and reset for the next meal.
- Visit residents and assist in gathering information on food preferences
- Maintain records, such as meal census, diets served, and weekly staffing patterns
- Ensure that care staff know what the specials of the day are and how they are prepared
- Review resident diet information and care plans and discuss with supervisor and staff as necessary to make appropriate
- Supervise cleaning procedures to ensure safe and sanitary conditions are maintained within the food service area.
- Establish practice of serving hot food hot and cold food cold
- Instruct new residents concerning when meals and snacks are to be served.
- Participate in the safety meeting which also includes infection control and safety committee functions
- Cover shifts as necessary when short of staff or employees call in
- Perform other duties as specified by the Executive Chef or Executive Director
- Be present in the Reflections neighborhood throughout the shift.
- Make fresh prepared snacks and serve on glassware
- Incorporate Culinary with Life Enrichment by having residents help make made from scratch breads and cookies and any other appropriate pastry items.

QUALIFICATIONS - Demonstration of our Core Values: Love, Kindness, Honesty, Goodness, Fairness, Respect.
- Experience: Previous experience in the dietary department of a health care facility or restaurant preferred, but not required.
- Job Knowledge: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Standards: Knowledge of and ability to meet regulations of ADA, state, infection and control, health department, and OSHA.
