Description:

Boise Cascade has an exciting opening for an Associate Accountant. This position is located onsite in Boise, ID Monday-Thursday with optional remote work on Fridays. Please review the responsibilities and needed qualifications below and apply today!

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with internal and external customers related to sales information, rebate contract details and/or payment inquiries. Maintains strong working relationships with customers.
  • Process monthly, quarterly, and annual payments related to customer rebate agreements.
  • Setup and maintain customer rebate agreements in the system. Analyzes and revises rebate accrual forecasts based upon data analysis and market information.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve upon internal applications, processes, & controls in collaboration with manager.
  • Prepare, complete, analyze and report accounting transactions and system maintenance ensuring integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting principles and policies including ERISA and SEC requirement, such as SOX 404, where applicable.
  • Focus of responsibilities may include performing accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, credit and collection, sales rebate duties.
  • Provide financial support to the business including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variations from budget.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve upon internal applications, processes, & controls in collaboration with manager.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Candidate must be a self-starter, have the ability to multi-task, work independently, and able to apply complex accounting principles to solve problems. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills including enterprise accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Peoplesoft), MS Office with advanced proficiency utilizing Excel. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience required. Three (3) years of accounting experience, or in related job function preferred.
