A Job That Changes Lives, Starting with YOURS! Great opportunity for a dynamic, skilled, and motivated coach to lead an established year-round swim team for the Walnut Creek Family YMCA. POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for planning, managing, and directing the swim team at the Walnut Creek Family YMCA. This position will need to coach, lead and motivate athletes in practice groups and at meets, promoting improvement and growth. In addition, this full-time positions off-deck responsibilities will include administrative and operational tasks vital to team management, growth and culture. JOB LOCATION: Walnut Creek Family YMCA HOURS/DAYS SCHEDULE: 40 hour work week including early mornings, evenings and/or weekend hours to accommodate practice schedules and swim competitions. HOURLY RATE: $19.00-$21.00/hour based on experience & qualifications; Benefits offered CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: October 5, 2026 - Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Hire, supervise, train and direct assistant coaches.In conjunction with supervisor, prepare season training plan/themes/focus and develop team events. Plan, write, schedule, and direct all team practices and meets. Maintain proper records, team lists, and reports as needed. Address member concerns by appointments and/or phone conversations. Relate to individual members on a professional basis at all times. Monitor and maintain equipment. Ensure safety of participants by enforcing policies and disciplinary rules. Report specific problems or needs to supervisor or designated staff person. Create an environment that welcomes all types of swimmers from varying levels and backgrounds. Communicate with the team and staff information regarding team activities, meets, goals and daily training plans.Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.
