TVS Supply Chain Solutions Manufacturing North America Inc is hiring a Operations Manager, Manufacturing in Waterloo, IA. This is a full-time position.
Operations Manager Summary The Operations Manager will manage, coordinate, and leadbusiness activities across all departmentsat our Waterloo, Iowa location. The Operations Managerleads employees at the location and oversees overall operational performance forassigned shifts. The Operations Manager isdirectly responsiblefor shift performanceregardingSafety, People Management, Manpower, Quality, Customer Satisfaction, and Industrial Hygiene. TheOperations Manageroverseesassociatesacrosstwo shifts.This role reports to the Plant Manager. Enforcedepartment-leveltracking, reporting, and control of the DART rate(Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred rate)for each department. Support and conduct safety investigations and meetingsas necessary. Ensure Department Managers comply withand enforce all standard safety practices. Ensure Department Managers maintainan organized and clean work environment in compliance with 6s workplace organizational standards. Inspect and monitorthat key departmentobjectivesare properly reported via the Shop Floor Management (SFM) process. Oversee and direct communication with the customer to address customer complaints and concerns; resolve problems and escalate issues as required. Interact with customers daily. Address and control the cost of poor qualityattributed to the shift. Key indexes include scrap, downtime, detention, and premium freight. Finalize daily plans and workloads with Department Managers to ensure daily goals and objectivesare achieved. Maintain, complete, and submitaccuratetimekeeping records for all employees within the designated span of control. Ensure Department Managers consistently enforce company policies.Monitor, measure, and report the performance of salary employees within the designated span of control. Create and administer performance reviews as prescribed bycompany practice. Partner with Quality, Materials, and Operations to perform root cause analysis and drive improvement. Execute coaching and feedback to maximize employee performance. Establish and maintainpositive employee relations and employee involvement. Develop continuous improvement processes to improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Participate in all TVS SCS quality and excellence initiatives. Work Environment This job is performed in a complex manufacturing environment with multiple workstations, heavymachineryand frequent forklift traffic. The facility is subject to seasonal temperature changes. Employees must wearappropriate personalprotective equipment (PPE), including steel-toed shoes and anyadditionalequipment as specified by company safety guidelines. The work will be divided between office and manufacturing settings. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Full-time, Exempt. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required. Expected work hours: 8: 00 AM - 4: 30 PM CST Travel Limited travel between locations is required for this position. Education and Experience Bachelors degree in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain, or a related field 6+ yearsofrelevantexperience in a manufacturing, production, or logistics environment. 4+ years ofdemonstratedleadership or supervisory experience. Must have strong computer skills and operational knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook). Knowledge of electronic timekeeping systems (Kronos, ADP, Gusto, Paypro). Working knowledge of an ERP (SAP, Great Plains, Dynamics, etc.) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Knowledge of OSHA standards and proven safety record. Knowledge of ISO quality systems. Ability to create and use mathematical equations to compute productivity reports. Ability to create comprehensive reports directly impactingbusiness performance. Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment involving tire and wheel operations is strongly preferred.
