Position Overview

As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Originations Merchant to join our team at our Denison, IA Ethanol Plant location.

As an Originations Merchant, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our agricultural trading operations by strategically sourcing, negotiating, and executing commodity transactions - specifically working with yellow corn and soybean commodities. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of agricultural markets, trends, and risk management, coupled with a proven track record in building and maintaining strong relationships with farmers, suppliers, and other key stakeholders. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to identify market opportunities, optimize trading strategies, and contribute to the overall growth and profitability of our agricultural portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Locate, evaluate and recruit potential customers/clients.
  • Serve customers, address inquiries or forward to appropriate internal contact.
  • Inform customers of new product/service introductions and prices
  • Create, monitor and revise/lead generation plans to ensure a substantive sales opportunity pipeline
  • Participate in marketing activities as needed

  • Has general awareness of business, financials, products/services and the market
  • Complexity is limited (territory/account, products/services, or sales process)
  • Has limited authority and opportunity to set and negotiate product/service terms
  • Relies on manager to provide planning and manage resources.


Minimum Q ualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 2-5 years' relevant experience required
