Description:

Schneider Electric has a new opportunity for an Electromechanical Test Technician to provide laboratory support for new product development, product evolution, existing product production, and product certification maintenance.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Safety and Maintenance:
  • Follow all laboratory and plant safety rules.
  • Operate laboratory test equipment.
  • Complete all required safety and skills training.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized laboratory.
  • Performing Tests/Calibrations:
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, thermal, functional, and environmental laboratory testing safely and efficiently according to established test standards or engineering specifications, with guidance.
  • Communicate effectively with test requestors to verify needs and ensure proper test execution and data gathering.
  • Document test information and results accurately using the corporate test documentation system.
  • Assemble/disassemble test devices.
  • Mount, connect, and operate test devices in the test environment as required.
  • Planning Tests/Calibrations:
  • Plan specific details around test execution with the help of Senior Technicians, including required test equipment and scheduling of laboratory equipment.
  • Evaluation of Results:
  • Provide objective descriptions of test results.
  • Reporting of Opinions and Interpretations:
  • Opinions and interpretations are not provided at this level.
  • Method Modification:
  • This laboratory uses methods defined in various certification standards and does not modify methods.
  • Development/Validation of New Methods:
  • This laboratory uses methods defined in various certification standards and does not create new methods.


Training: Employees will be required to complete training in the following areas:
  • Laboratory Safety
  • Electrical Safety
  • Quality Manual
  • UL DAP Tools / CSA Requirements
  • Equipment Training as required by the job
  • Other training as required by corporate direction or lab changes


Education Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree or higher in a related technical field


Expertise:
  • Safe operation of basic laboratory hand and power tools.
  • Safe operation of basic laboratory measurement and test equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Basic working knowledge of DC and AC electricity concepts (voltage, current, power, resistance, etc.).
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, etc.
  • Ability to work independently or in teams.
