Job Description

MacQueen Equipment, LLC DBA MacQueen is hiring a Rescue Specialist - Multi State Coverage in Des Moines, IA. This is a full-time position.

**Coverage is currently SD, ND, IA and MN - core focus on IA & MN***

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

You’ll live at the intersection of technical expert, trainer, and relationship builder:

  • Lead hands-on product demonstrations for rescue equipment and personal safety systems
  • Train fire departments, EMS teams, and rescue crews on how to properly use critical equipment
  • Customize demos to real-world scenarios—not canned presentations
  • Act as the go-to expert—answering questions, solving problems, and building confidence in the gear
  • Support the sales team by helping turn demos into real deals and long-term partnerships
  • Travel to departments, training grounds, and customer sites—this is a field-first role

What Makes This Role Different

You’re not just selling equipment.

You’re:

  • Showing a firefighter how to trust the gear they’re about to rely on
  • Training a team so they’re ready when the call comes in
  • Representing a brand that stands behind the people who protect communities

When they use it in the field—you helped make that possible.

What You Bring

  • Experience with product demos, training, or technical sales (bonus if it’s in safety/rescue equipment)
  • Strong technical aptitude—you can learn complex equipment and explain it clearly
  • Confidence to lead trainings in front of groups (classroom or hands-on environments)
  • Natural relationship builder—people trust you quickly
  • Ability to adapt—no two demos or departments are the same
  • Willingness to travel—this role is built for someone who likes being on the move

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Becoming an expert in rescue and personal safety equipment
  • Delivering high-impact training and demonstrations that drive conversions
  • Supporting pricing, proposals, and customer conversations alongside sales
  • Providing post-sale training to ensure customers are fully equipped and confident
  • Gathering feedback from the field and helping improve products and processes
  • Managing your schedule, travel, and key account activity

The Kind of Person Who Wins Here

  • You don’t want a routine—you want purpose and movement
  • You take pride in knowing your work actually matters
  • You can switch from technical detail to real-world application without missing a beat
  • You’re just as comfortable in front of a group as you are working hands-on with equipment

Why MacQueen

We support the people who keep communities safe—firefighters, EMS crews, and first responders.

That means:

  • The work is real
  • The impact is immediate
  • And the expectations are high

Bottom Line

If you want a role where you’re not just talking about products—but putting them in the hands of the people who depend on them—

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

This is a physically active position involving hands-on work with equipment, tools, and mechanical systems. The role may require:

  • Frequently standing, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, reaching, and working in various positions to access equipment and components.
  • Occasionally performing repetitive motions and grasping or handling tools, parts, and equipment.
  • Occasionally climbing to access equipment, components, or storage racks.
  • Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving items weighing more than 20 pounds, with occasional handling of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally sitting and using a computer or diagnostic equipment to access technical information, document repairs, and complete service records.
  • Working in shop or service environments with potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, fumes, and other equipment-related hazards.
  • Using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required by applicable safety procedures.
