Koch Fertilizer Fort Dodge, LLC is seeking a Plant Engineer to join our team in Duncombe, IA.

What You Will Do

  • Advance Koch's company culture, Principle Based Management PBM©.
  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, and reliability teams to understand opportunities for improving our equipment.
  • Complete workorders and small projects that require engineering. This includes managing all phases of the workorder or project including project development, front-end engineering, detailed design, Management of Change and other safety reviews, construction, and commissioning.
  • Provide technical support for all phases of large capital projects that require subject matter expertise. This may include objective development, detailed design reviews, documentation and file updates, and managing the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Lead and/or support Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations and implement solutions identified.
  • Travel up to 25% to support other Koch Fertilizer plants.
  • Provide support to a 24/7 production facility
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization


Physical Requirements:

  • Unassisted physical mobility around a plant.
  • Work in hot, cold, and inclement climate conditions.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Working knowledge of engineering/technical documents (P& IDs, One Line drawings, schematics, etc.).


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Project management, project engineering, or project support experience.
  • Management of Change experience in an OSHA Process Safety management (PSM) regulated facility.
  • Maintenance or job planning experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or Construction Management.
  • Experience working in a chemical manufacturing facility or military experience.
