Your Job

Koch Fertilizer Wever, LLC is looking for an experienced Asset Integrity/Quality Control Inspector to join our Asset Integrity team in Wever, Iowa. This individual will assist in the establishment and operation of the Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity Inspection Program for plant compliance and inspection of fixed equipment. This role is responsible for planning, performing, analyzing, reporting, and leading inspection day-to-day operations, work scopes, and projects for fixed pressure systems and equipment.

What You Will Do

  • Program Implementation: Provide technical support and lead the implementation of inspection programs for fixed equipment and piping across the plant, while collaborating with engineers on QA repair packages.
  • Inspection and Quality Control: Conduct visual QC weld inspections, manage QA/QC functions, oversee materials and fabrication methods, and lead inspection efforts during plant shutdowns.
  • Reliability and Efficiency Enhancement: Drive site reliability improvements, complete inspection plans, analyze data, and maintain the PCMS inspection database to enhance plant efficiency. Identify opportunities for process optimization and risk reduction to support sustainable operations and long-term plant performance.
  • Reporting: Prepare and communicate inspection reports, utilize Maximo for requests, and manage project scopes and costs effectively.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Develop clear and concise communication strategies to ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned with inspection outcomes and project objectives.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Quality and/or Inspections experience in a chemical industry or similar environment.
  • General knowledge of materials, welding, welding WPS's, PQR's, testing and repair techniques.
  • Willing and able to meet all physical requirements:
    • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
    • Bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to climb straight ladders. Some work may require heights in excess of 100 feet.
    • Wearing industrial chemical plant uniforms and PPE as required.
    • Wearing a respirator when/where required to perform inspections/job duties.
    • Confined space entry may be required.


What Will Put You Ahead
  • Fertilizer manufacturing experience.
  • Associates or Technical Degree in Inspection or another technical field.
  • Certified in API 510, 570, and ASNT CT/CWI, NACE, and API 653.
  • Expertise in applying NDE (UT, PT, MT, RT) and advanced NDE techniques.
  • Knowledge of damage mechanisms in the fertilizer industry or chemical plant.
  • Knowledge of risk-based inspection software programs and best practices.
