This role is ideal for a detail-oriented HR professional who enjoys providing exceptional customer service, maintaining data accuracy, and supporting key HR processes in a collaborative and stable work environment.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Benefits Coordinator to support the day-to-day administration of the organization's employee benefits programs. This role serves as a primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, supports benefit enrollment and life event changes, ensures compliance with applicable laws and company policies, and partners with benefit vendors to deliver exceptional service to employees.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Benefits Coordinator to support the day-to-day administration of the organization's employee benefits programs. This role serves as a primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, supports benefit enrollment and life event changes, ensures compliance with applicable laws and company policies, and partners with benefit vendors to deliver exceptional service to employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with administering employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and leave programs.
- Coordinate new hire benefit enrollments, qualifying life event changes, annual open enrollment, and benefit terminations.
- Respond to employee questions regarding eligibility, coverage, claims, enrollment, and benefit policies.
- Maintain accurate benefit records within the HRIS and benefits administration systems.
- Audit benefit data and payroll deductions to ensure accuracy and timely corrections.
- May assist with leave administration, including FMLA, state leave programs, and ADA accommodations, as applicable.
- Review employee communications, benefit guides, and educational materials.
- Support annual open enrollment planning, employee meetings, and system testing.
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and Section 125 requirements.
- Assist with benefit audits, reporting, and vendor performance reviews.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance the employee benefits experience.
- Partner with payroll to reconcile benefit deductions and employer contributions.
- Coordinate with benefit carriers and third-party administrators to resolve eligibility and claim issues.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in related experience required
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required; UKG Pro experience desired.
- Competencies: Strong attention to detail, ability to handle confidential information, and excellent communication skills for resolving customer service issues.
Education
- Associates degree or equivalent in related field from two-year college or technical school required. HR certificate desired.
