Description:

CIVCO is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to lead and coordinate the daily operations of our Shipping, Labeling, Warehouse, and Receiving departments. This role requires a hands-on leader with a passion for process improvement, problem solving, and team development within a lean manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be organized, communicative, and collaborative, with a strong ability to set and manage priorities while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.)

  1. Supervise and direct all daily activities in the Shipping, Kitting, Warehouse, and Receiving departments to ensure operational efficiency and on-time performance.
  2. Lead a lean management system that consists of tier meetings, kaizens, daily Gemba walks, and 5S activities.
  3. Coach, mentor, and lead team members to meet performance goals in safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  4. Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, proposing solutions, and implementing process enhancements.
  5. Develop, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) in alignment with lean principles and business goals.
  6. Maintain accurate inventory control and ensure smooth material flow throughout all departments.
  7. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to drive decision-making and report progress to leadership.
  8. Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies; conduct regular safety audits and lead root cause analyses for incidents.
  9. Collaborate with other departments including Production & Assembly, Quality, Planning, and Engineering to support cross-functional initiatives and resolve issues.
  10. Support staffing plans, including interviewing, onboarding, and performance evaluations for team members.
  11. Handle conflict resolution, schedule adherence, and labor optimization to meet business demands.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong background in lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven leadership and team development skills with a hands-on, floor-engaged approach.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to set clear priorities and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills – verbal, written, and interpersonal – with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP/WMS systems.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field.
  • Lean of Six Sigma certification or equivalent.
  • Experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing industries.

  • Mental and Physical Alertness: Requires focus, attention to detail, and quick responsiveness to changing priorities, safety concerns, and operational needs in a fast-paced setting.

This role requires regular presence on the production floor, warehouse, and shipping/receiving areas.
