Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Supervises team that monitors environmental, safety or health programs for at least one department, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Altec standards through hands-on support for safety initiatives, hazard assessments, and employee training to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leads continuous improvement events, identifies corrective actions, and ensures completion
• Oversees site inspection/assessments to identify hazards, assess associated risks, and ensure proper controls are in place to mitigate impacts
• Investigates incidents to identify root causes and develops processes and controls to correct and prevent further issues
• Prepares and maintains documentation and reporting in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
• Trains and educates associates about safety and/or environmental impacts, best practices, and regulatory compliance
• Preemptively identifies hazards and implements corrective actions
• Identifies trends and develops controls to correct and prevent further issues

ENVIORONMENTAL:
• Coordinates waste reduction, recycling programs, and sustainability initiatives
• Monitors and ensures continuous compliance regarding air emissions, wastewater discharge, hazardous waste management and stormwater regulations
• Coordinates efforts regarding new equipment installation and modifications with corporate environmental

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
High School Diploma/GED Required
A) Bachelor's Degree Required and 2 Years Applicable Experience
B) High School Diploma/GED Required and 4 Years Applicable Experience
And
C) OSHA 30 hours training Preferred
D) Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Preferred
E) Environmental Compliance training or certifications (e.g., RCRA, SPCC, SWPPP) Preferred
