Description:

Through materials, colours, objects and gestures, always with an ethical dimension, Hermès Beauty offers a variety of collections to enhance the beauty of its clients. The Regional Beauty Artist is at the heart of the beauty expansion and the métier expertise at a regional level.

Reporting to the Asia Pacific Training and Retail Manager, the Regional Beauty Artist is responsible for relaying the vision of Hermès Beauty at the regional level by:
  • Support Regional Training Team in cultivating an artistry community through recruiting and managing a local freelance makeup artist talent pool.
  • Manage and animate exclusive VIC events and main retail events around Hermès beauty such as Master Classes and Collective Makeup Lessons or as a special guest in stores.
  • Support local press & influence and communication events.

Nature of Scope: Hermès Stores and Personalized Spaces

Travel Frequency: 50% travel to be expected in the focus area

Responsible scope: Asia Pacific (60% dedicated to Greater China and 40% to other APAC regions)

The key mission of the Regional Beauty Artist is to strongly build and spread Hermès make-up artistry statement at a regional level, working 360° with internal stakeholders to ensure sustainable business success and full brand image coherence as well as to maximize sales by building brand awareness through make-up expertise and artistry amongst all retail teams and towards press & influence.

Main Missions:

Education and Coaching missions

Support the Regional Training Team by elevating makeup skills through ambassadors coaching in classroom on product knowledges, colour expertise, makeup technique development and beauty retail tips:
  • Support local trainers in training and managing the local freelance makeup artist talent pool.
  • Co-animate beauty seminar and specific workshops to cascade and promote the Hermès beauty artistry direction.
  • Share retail selling tips to support beauty services deployment in store.
  • Develop expertise and federate the local Beauty community through regular touch points.

Retail VIC Animation missions

Deliver the best-in-class Hermès Beauty VIC client experience:
  • Manage Hermès Beauty Master Classes and Collective Makeup Lessons by sharing Hermès Beauty identity, animating live demonstration performance and ensuring guidelines roll-out.
  • Perform VIC one to all beauty demonstrations and one on one service consultation in store as a special guest.
  • Co-build with Training & Retail /Commercial/Marketing Managers on offline beauty events calendar and content.
  • Collect & report client and competition insights: product launches, animations, events, promotions.
  • Build brand desirability & strengthen client loyalty.
  • Contribute to sales performance, consumer recruitment and brand awareness through executing engaging regional and local events.

Make up Artistry missions

Promote Hermès Beauty expertise through Press events and VIC events out of stores organized by Hermès Communication team:
  • Play the role of Regional Hermès Beauty Ambassador.
  • Embody and share the vision, pillars, products, colours and gestures expertise of Hermès Beauty metier.
  • Lead makeup artists (internal or external profiles) during press events to ensure flawless event execution.
  • Nourish the expertise, support locally by selecting and certifying external makeup artist profiles.
  • Perform beauty live demonstrations.
  • Support international press event taking place locally or in the region by leading expertise roll-out and assisting Hermès Beauty Creative Director.
  • Support Hermès Beauty Creative Director in makeup backstage for cross-métiers events (i.e. Hermès Ready to Wear Shows)

Profile:

Education and Professional Experience
  • Proven experience as a professional makeup artist, preferably with the focus on luxury beauty brands.
  • Professional makeup artist or makeup academy background.
  • Individual who understands the importance of representing a luxury brand without overshadowing it.
  • Minimum 5 years of Field experience as a Makeup Trainer or Senior Makeup Artist.
  • Organizational skills to prepare various performances with meticulous attention to detail, including speech, Hermès Beauty vision and vocabulary, and makeup looks tailored to the local culture and market-driven product trends.
  • Professional and demonstrate ability to maintain brand confidentiality.
  • Display beauty makeup expertise with clients and strong influencing skills.

Know-how
  • Proficient in natural beauty makeup techniques, with the ability to create elegant and sophisticated expressions.
  • Strong understanding of makeup expressions and the ability to execute them flawlessly.
  • Photo shooting, backstage make-up skills.
  • Exceptional hygiene standards and knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Fluent and effective English communication skills, French or Chinese language skills a plus
  • Rich vocabulary, encompassing makeup techniques, vision, and inspiration.
  • Excellent presentation, communication & selling skills.

  • Great interpersonal skills with a humble attitude.
  • Ability to engage and captivate audiences, leading masterclasses with confidence and charisma.
  • Passionate in people development, observant and active listening skills.
