Don Quijote Hawaii is hiring a Loss Prevention Agent in Honolulu, HI. This is a full-time position.

Job Title: Loss Prevention Agent Department: Security Reports to: Loss Prevention Supervisor POSITION SUMMARY: Loss Prevention Agents maintains a presence in the public retail space undercover in an assigned store to monitor customers and associates for unusual behavior to prevent potential theft, vandalism and loss of Company property while maintaining a safe business environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (responsibilities include, but are not limited to): - Must maintain good judgment while surveilling potential shoplifters to avoid liability due to false arrest. - Remain alert and monitor public areas for suspicious activity (shoplifters, robberies and other security problems) and safety issues on Company property - Monitors all back warehouse areas, walk-in chills/freezers which can provide additional opportunities of pilferage by associates - Following and confronting suspected shoplifters - Will maintain a log of incidents that occurred during your shift - Fills out an incident report on suspicious activities or security issues that will be forwarded to the Loss Prevention Supervisor - Working with law enforcement to arrest and prosecute suspected shoplifters and dishonest associates - Must be willing to go to court to prosecute - Must be willing to travel from store to store in own vehicle - Understand and abide by all company policies and procedures - Any tasks as deemed necessary by management in time of need or emergency OTHER DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: - Use proper safety procedures - Able to multitask, listen to directions and follow through independently - Able to remain calm in stressful and difficult situations. - Able to work with a team and independently when needed EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION: - High school / Secondary school diploma or GED - State of Hawaii Guard Card - Must be 18 years old or older - Must have drivers license and have your own vehicle. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Previous experience working in security or loss prevention in retain operations preferred - Good communication and observation skills. - Proficient in reading and writing in English WORK ENVIRONMENT: - Air condition while in store, subject to outside conditions of heat, rain, and wind - Very fast paced PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
