Maintains patients dignity throughout the exam/procedure.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Demonstrates competence in the determination and application of appropriate procedures, equipment, supplies and techniques based on the age of patients.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Organizes schedule, time and priorities so that required activities are accomplished within designated time frames.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Follows physicians instructions when assisting with procedures and exams.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Uses critical thinking skills.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Dialogs with patient/family.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Asks clarifying questions.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Seeks clarification on ambiguous orders.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Understands, demonstrates and documents preprocedural verification and Time Out process when appropriate.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Demonstrates and understands pre-and-post procedural care.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Preps the patient for the procedure.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Demonstrates and understands sterile technique.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Maintains competency with venipuncture.< /p> < /li> < /ul> < p> < /p> < p> < i> < b> Education and Communications< /b> < /i> < /p> < p> < /p> < ul> < li> < p> Patiently and clearly explains purpose and nature of exam to patient prior to starting of procedure, to minimize anxiety and facilitate cooperation using AIDET; Acknowledge, Introduce, Discuss, Explain, and Thank you of all patients and family members.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Ensures that patient's questions, concerns or contraindications are satisfactorily addressed, notifying physician when this cannot be accomplished, prior to the initiation of the procedure.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Participates in the orientation and training of departmental employees.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Required documentation is concise, legible and includes precise terminology.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Reads email each day scheduled to work and follows through with assignment.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Completes mandatory departmental and Hospital-wide education without prompting.< /p> < /li> < /ul> < p> < /p> < p> < i> < b> Quality Control< /b> < /i> < /p> < p> < /p> < ul> < li> < p> Consistently produces acceptable images, as evidenced by radiologist feedback and quality audits.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Ensures that equipment is fully operational prior to each use, by checking for proper calibration and operating deficiencies.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Sends all studies to PACS immediately after completion, prints CDs as needed.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Studies that have been transmitted after hours to teleradiography are printed and scanned in PACS, if applicable.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Completes all studies in RIS before completing in PACS.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Prints completed log sheet from teleradiography and submits to Radiologist, if applicable.< /p> < /li> < /ul> < p> < /p> < p> < i> < b> Operations< /b> < /i> < /p> < p> < /p> < ul> < li> < p> Restocks linens and supplies, and maintains NM department in clean and orderly condition.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Transports patients, positions patients, and helps them on and off procedure table.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Performs patient charging activities on the day the service is rendered.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Applies supportive and immobilization devices and equipment.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Willingly lends knowledge and assistance to others upon request as needed and routinely as time is available, without prompting, so that all working time is used for departmental advantage.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Performs routine duties of clerical and support personnel in accordance with procedure when warranted to ensure continuity and quality of services.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Keeps supervisor informed on all responsibilities on an ongoing basis, ensuring prompt notification in the event of problems or potential problems.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Maintains an individual productivity rate equal to other co-workers.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Ability to operate NM equipment within the department.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Maintains Joint Commission standards and any other regulatory agency standards.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Any other duties as assigned.< /p> < /li> < li> < p> Takes call when necessary.< /p> < /li> < /ul> < p> < br /> < b> Join us and discover the support to do more meaningful work—and enjoy a more rewarding life.
