The Mammography Technologist works< br /> under the direction of a Radiologist and/or Manager.< br /> < /p> < h2> < b> < br /> Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: < /b> < /h2> < p> < br /> Demonstrates sound knowledge in the performance of Breast and Bone Density Imaging while adhering to< br /> department protocol and standards and applies the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, < br /> self and others.< br /> Performs a variety of exams including Breast and Bone Density imaging. Evaluates images for technical< br /> quality. Performs post processing of data and ensures proper patient identification is recorded.< br /> Provides optimal patient care and assumes responsibility for the patient's needs during their procedures< br /> and exemplifies the philosophy of Patient Family Centered care to all.< br /> Applies the principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care. Identifies and responds to< br /> emergency situations in an appropriate manner. Strictly adheres to the principles of aseptic technique and< br /> hand washing policies.< br /> Assists the Radiologist with procedures and protocols.< br /> Performs other duties as assigned< br /> Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.< br /> < /p> < h2> < b> < br /> Required Minimum Education: < /b> < /h2> < ul> < li> Accredited Program Radiologic Technology< /li> < /ul> < br /> < h2> < b> < br /> Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): < /b> < /h2> < p> < br /> All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.< /p> < ul> < li> BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor< /li> < li> ARRT-M - ARRT Mammography< /li> < li> ARRT-R - ARRT Radiography< /li> < /ul> < br /> < h2> < b> Additional License(s) and Certification(s): < /b> < /h2> < br /> < h2> < b> < br /> Required Minimum Experience: < /b> < /h2> < p> < br /> Minimum 2 years Diagnostic Radiography/X-Ray.
