Role Summary

The Clinical Nurse (RN) is an essential member of an interdisciplinary care team responsible for providing individualized, high-quality patient care. This role applies evidence-based nursing practice, strong clinical judgment, and critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

Working in partnership with nurse leaders and healthcare professionals, the RN promotes patient-centered care, effective communication, and a culture of safety and accountability. The position emphasizes collaboration with patients and families while supporting continuous improvement in clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Practice & Patient Care

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the full nursing process

• Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care tailored to diverse populations

• Partner with patients and families to support education and care planning

• Follow evidence-based clinical standards and best practices

Team Collaboration

• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Foster a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative work environment

• Participate in shared governance and performance improvement initiatives

Professional Development

• Complete ongoing competency and continuing education requirements

• Serve as a mentor or preceptor to support workforce development

• Contribute to a healthy and supportive workplace culture

Quality & Evidence-Based Practice

• Support nursing research and quality improvement efforts

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and accreditation standards

• Use clinical data and evidence to guide decision-making

Operational Support

• Plan and coordinate care across the patient continuum

• Assist with protocol and process improvements

• Promote efficient use of clinical resources

Qualifications

Education

• Associate degree or diploma in Nursing required

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Licensure & Certifications

• Active RN license (single-state or compact)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience

• Completion of an accredited nursing program with required clinical hours

• 5+ years of direct patient care experience preferred

Skills

• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking abilities

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Basic computer and healthcare technology proficiency
