Description:

Perioperative RN — Main OR (Day Shift)


This day‑shift Perioperative RN role supports the Main OR, specializing in general surgery. The nurse functions as part of an interdisciplinary surgical team, providing safe, high‑quality, patient‑centered care as a Circulator or Scrub Nurse. The position requires strong clinical judgment, collaboration, and adherence to evidence‑based practice. On‑call participation is required, and sign‑on or relocation incentives may be available.


Key Responsibilities
Clinical Practice
• Perform the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Deliver individualized, evidence‑based perioperative care
• Provide culturally sensitive, relationship‑based patient care
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, ensuring understanding of care plans
• Maintain current clinical practice standards

Teamwork & Collaboration
• Coordinate safe, high‑quality patient care throughout the surgical process
• Participate in interdisciplinary communication, including rounds and case reviews
• Support a respectful, inclusive, and efficient OR environment
• Contribute to performance improvement and shared governance initiatives
Professional Development
• Complete required education and competency assessments
• Serve as a mentor or preceptor to support the development of other nurses and students
• Engage in ongoing learning and evidence‑based practice

Quality, Safety & Resource Management
• Follow organizational policies, regulatory standards, and ethical nursing practice
• Participate in developing protocols to improve outcomes and reduce adverse events
• Use resources efficiently and support safe, effective surgical care

Qualifications
• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
• Licensure/Certifications: Active RN license (single‑state or compact), BLS
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of direct patient care nursing experience
