Key Responsibilities

Product Design & Development

• Create and revise 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings in accordance with company drafting standards.
• Assist in the development of new products, components, and assemblies from concept through production.
• Perform basic engineering calculations to support product performance, safety, and reliability.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into design iterations.
• Participate in testing in the engineering lab and production.

Documentation & Engineering Support

• Generate and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, DCNs/DRNs, test procedures, and technical reports.
• Support prototype fabrication, testing, and validation activities.
• Assist with sustaining engineering efforts to support operations and maintain performance of existing products
• Work with manufacturing to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and optimized for production.
• Assist in troubleshooting issues related to design, quality, or performance.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, and Sales.
• Communicate design intent clearly through models, drawings, and presentations.
• Support continuous improvement, cost reduction, and standardization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar).
• Understanding of dimensioning & tolerancing (GD& T) and engineering drawing standards.
• Basic knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or co-op experience in product design, manufacturing, or engineering support.
• Experience working within an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor).
• Familiarity with FEA tools, tolerance stack-ups, and technical documentation.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and ability to participate in assembly/test activities.

Working Conditions

• Office and shop/production floor environment as needed.
• Occasional travel may be required for vendor visits, training, or field support.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and participate in hands-on testing activities.
• Work may be performed in an engineering laboratory environment where exposure to diesel fuel, oils, and other test fluids is required.
