Description:
Key Responsibilities Product Design & Development - Create and revise 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings in accordance with company drafting standards.
- Assist in the development of new products, components, and assemblies from concept through production.
- Perform basic engineering calculations to support product performance, safety, and reliability.
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into design iterations.
- Participate in testing in the engineering lab and production.
Documentation & Engineering Support - Generate and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, DCNs/DRNs, test procedures, and technical reports.
- Support prototype fabrication, testing, and validation activities.
- Assist with sustaining engineering efforts to support operations and maintain performance of existing products
- Work with manufacturing to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and optimized for production.
- Assist in troubleshooting issues related to design, quality, or performance.
Collaboration & Communication - Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, and Sales.
- Communicate design intent clearly through models, drawings, and presentations.
- Support continuous improvement, cost reduction, and standardization initiatives.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar).
- Understanding of dimensioning & tolerancing (GD& T) and engineering drawing standards.
- Basic knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Internship or co-op experience in product design, manufacturing, or engineering support.
- Experience working within an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor).
- Familiarity with FEA tools, tolerance stack-ups, and technical documentation.
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude and ability to participate in assembly/test activities.

Working Conditions - Office and shop/production floor environment as needed.
- Occasional travel may be required for vendor visits, training, or field support.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and participate in hands-on testing activities.
- Work may be performed in an engineering laboratory environment where exposure to diesel fuel, oils, and other test fluids is required.
