Description:
Key Responsibilities Product Design & Sustaining Engineering - Independently support sustaining engineering activities for existing products to ensure continued performance, quality, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Lead design updates, product improvements, and cost reduction initiatives in support of operations and field performance.
- Create, review, and approve 3D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings in accordance with company standards.
- Generate and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, DCNs/DRNs, test procedures, and technical reports.
- Own engineering projects or defined subsystems from scope definition through implementation, including technical execution, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.
Testing, Analysis & Engineering Tools - Develop, modify, and maintain LabVIEW-based test systems to support product validation and sustaining engineering efforts.
- Utilize FEA and CFD or equivalent analysis and simulation tools to support testing, troubleshooting, and engineering decisions.
- Plan and support laboratory testing involving diesel fuel, oils, and other industrial test fluids, following established safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Write test procedures for production and new product testing
Manufacturing, Quality & Supplier Support - Support MRB (Material Review Board) activities, including root cause analysis, disposition, and corrective action implementation
- Provide engineering support for First Article Inspections (FAI) and supplier qualification activities.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and suppliers, responding to drawing interpretations, specifications, and technical inquiries.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Typically 3-6 years of relevant engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated capability.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar).
- Strong understanding of GD& T, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work independently and make sound engineering decisions.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience working within an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor).
- Experience with LabVIEW, simulation/analysis tools, or automated test environments.
- Prior experience supporting MRB, FAI, and supplier technical interactions.
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude and comfort working in laboratory and production environments.

Working Conditions - Work is performed in both office and laboratory environments.
- Laboratory activities may involve exposure to diesel fuel, oils, and other industrial or specialty test fluids.
- Adherence to safety procedures and use of required personal protective equipment is mandatory.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and participate in hands-on testing and evaluation activities.
